I have a 333MHz Lombard with an internal 24x CDROM

Can I swap my CPU for a 400MHz Lombard CPU, and a 400Mhz Lombard DVDROM drive for the CDROM?

All info I've found has been contradictory thus far, so I have come to the oracle for the truth.

thanks.

Yes, the CPU is on a processor card which is perfectly interchangeble with the 400MHZ card.

You can put the DVD drive in your Lombard BUT will also need a DVD Pc slot decoder card to be able to watch DVD's as the 333 Lombard did not have the Decoder built in like the 400 did. VST made one and you can find both the DVD bay drive AND the Decoder pc card on Ebay from time to time. This only works in OS 9 I believe.

Or if you got the motherboard too, that should handle the DVD decoding. The GPU is on the motherboard, isn't it?
