Slow connecting to iDisk

Does everyone else experience really slow connect speeds to their iDisk? I've connected to my iDisk with a T1 connection (and faster) and it still takes ages to mount on the desktop, and at the same time slowing everything else down with it.
I'm using a Pismo/500.

Are you running the 10.1 update? If so, try mounting your iDisk by using the Go -> Connect to Server menu, and then typing:
afp://idisk.apple.com
Enter your username and password, and your iDisk will mount. Not exactly lightning-fast, but definitely an improvement.

The assumption is, that he is running OS9 because this is not in an OSX forum.
BigMark - yeah, its just slow; and due to OS9's co operative multitasking, the system is halted every now and then for a few seconds.
It's normal.

Its a lot quicker if you don't use your browser and Apple.com.
Go to chooser, then appleshare, then click on adress. Type in idisk.mac.com and you will be promted for your username and password....
Then under the Apple menu, under "recent servers" it will have your username on an alias, you can then drag that alias to the desktop and whenever you want you idisk you just double-click the alias. I find it to be much quicker than doing it off the browser.

OK, thanks for the replies, guys.
Yes, I'm running Mac OS 9.04, and have tried connecting with both the Chooser and the Network Browser. (Chooser only allows me to type in idisk.mac.com, not afp://....etc.)
I also asked this question in the Apple discussion boards and got the same answers, so I will have to put up with it for the meantime.
