I have an opportunity to aquire an SE with two 800k disk drives...


everymac.com states...

"The Apple Macintosh SE features an 8 MHz 68000 processor, 1 MB of RAM, and either dual 800k disk drives or one 800k disk drive and a 20 MB hard drive in a compact all-in-one case with a 9" monochrome display."

As I read this, it is a bit unclear if the two 800k drives are IN PLACE of a hard drive or IN ADDITION to a hard drive.

Can anyone help?

The SE with two floppy driives had no hard disk drive.

All SE models did include a 50-pin SCSI connector external and internal, so it makes it relatively simple to put a 3.5" SCSI drive into a double drive SE. I have an SE which I took the second drive (bottom one) out of, and replaced it with a 200MB SCSI drive. It works great.
