The standard AMG models, no. But AMG, just like BMW's M, takes care of special needs of customers. That's why I said that they'll refer you to AMG. They can do about anything you want. AMG (and M) don't just make the performance versions.

First I've heard about this!

Link? (I'm not saying that I don't believe you without a link - I'd just like to educate myself a little in this matter)

Ditto. That's how the manual ended up in my friend's parents' car.

For BMW it's called BMW Individual which is a subdivision of M GmbH.
http://www.bmw.com/generic/de/de/pro...ual/index.html

Mercedes doesn't really mention this on their website but I know for a fact that they do stuff like that (I looked but can't immidiately find anything). I know someone who had this done (not a manual gearbox but a completely custom interior).

Essentially, if you pay up then they can do about everything you wish. And if AMG doesn't wan't to do it you'll always have Brabus. Of course this stuff isn't for the average client.

I knew the individual programs existed - just figured they were for non-mechanical stuff (like custom interiors!).

I'm intrigued.

Well, Brabus makes a special compartment for your Kalashnikov if you wish (saw it on TV, some Russian mafia guy wanted it)
