Hey all,
I did a search and couldn't find info on this. I have a 17" MBP that is about 7 months old, and I just noticed yesterday that they Magsafe LED occasionally goes out. It seems to light up again if I disconnect it and reconnect it. It has done this twice in the last half hour.
It seems like the MBP is still getting power (as I type this, the menu bar shows that it is charged, and the system profiler tells me the following:
Charge Information:
Charge remaining (mAh): 5969

Notice that the AC power is reported to be connected, but not charging.
Is this likely an issue with the brick, or the computer? My next step is to see if my wife's MB adapter does the same thing. I also need to see if it happens while the computer's battery isn't fully charged. I will report back my findings, but has anyone else seen this behavior?
Thanks,
Jeff

My MB does it pretty often, usually when it's switching from charging to charged (orange to green). No biggie.

Seems to make sense.
I ran my battery down halfway, and it hasn't gone out yet (still recharging).
Thanks,
Jeff

I noticed my older 07 MBP had done this at least on one occasion. No big deal since I noticed in the menu bar it still showed as plugged in.

Keep an eye on it, it may develop into being connected, but "not charging", permanently like my MacBook does. This isn't a MagSafe charger issue for me because both do the same on that 1 MacBook but work fine on the other.
Also, next time it does it, turn all the lights out or put your hand over it to see if you can see it glowing faintly.

It did it again after my last post last night. The LED went out as the menubar said "finishing charge" or "completing charge" (or something like that). Again, unplugging it for a moment and plugging it brings the green light back for a little while.
Still haven't tried the magsafe from my wife's MB.

I've had my MBP since June 2007 and it's always done that. No problems yet. *knocks on wood*
