I have a problem that is a real stumper. I connect to the internet via a USB cable attached to my cellphone. Been doing this for years with excellent results in system 9 (with my titanium). My original Aluminum laptop running 10.4.7 now only occasionally recognizes that it is attached as shown by the results in System Profiler. It would appear that there is some recognition going on as attaching my phone during sleep causes my laptop to wake, just as with any other USB device I attach during sleep. However, System Profiler does not even show an "unidentified" device attached and I cannot connect to the internet.

All my other USB devices are recognized and work correctly. And when I plug this cellphone and cable into another Mac, it is recognized.

Any ideas? This may or may not even be the right forum to post this on.

Thanks!
