I've had my Macbook for over a year now and just got round to getting a router to use my wireless.

There's another laptop in my house (windows) and the wireless works fine with that but not mine?? I've tried everything the apple website tells you plus doing everything I can think of but nothing!

It says in the system preferences bit in my network that I'm connected (with the green light) but when I click on safari it stays blank for ages then says my server has stopped responding! Can anyone help me?? Please!!

What sort of wireless router do you have?
What model macbook?
What version of the Mac OS, and does it have all airport (wireless) updates?

Are you getting a valid IP address from the router? In Network preferences, double-click Airport and check the TCP/IP tab. You should be getting a 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x address. If you see a 169.x.x.x address, click Renew DHCP Lease to try to get a valid address.

Yea i just had that problem. We finally got an airport extreme, but nothing worked. If it says your connected up in the upper right corner, but then when you open safari and it doesn't work, then ibooksteve is right your just having an ip address problem. Do what he said, and if it doesnt work, then call the apple care help line, and when it asked what do you need help with say airport extreme, those are the router people who actully no what there doing, like ibooksteve lol, and unlike me lol . peace
