I was going to do Cappuccino last since I will be doing the Orbital variant during the update BUT, if you would be happy with the original Cappuccino release for now until I can get all the other stuff out of the way(which really wont be that long, about the same amount of time it took to get NeXT out the door) then update Cappuccino with the Orbital variant; I'll do that.

Opinions?

Ive started on GarageBand but it will not be able to be released until a new ShapeShifter which resolves the Metal Window Texturing problem is available. Without it, the brushed window look nice but not at all like they should for a GarageBand theme.

If anything people will know it's a leak with you running around shouting and pointing "NDA". The best thing would be to keep quiet, plus brushed metal being texture fixed isn't anything really big or unexpected.

Anyway... NeXT looks really nice, from the screens I've seen of the OS you're quite close to the real thing.
I look forward to Cappuccino, I don't think I ever used it on Jag though...
I kinda wish you did a true port of TuX, JetBack is cool but in a different way.

I just phrased it that way because there isnt any other app out there that even has the ability to attempt to fix these limitations. Also, ShapeShifter is the program which makes the texture a problem right now so it only makes sense that it will also be the app to resolve it. I dont know if this is planned for a future version or not, I just know that Jason is very good about addressing the shortcomings of his applications and I therefore assume that he will come through for me(everyone).

Sheesh...

Swiz phrased that just fine. But at this point, I guess I may as well go ahead and OFFICIALLY MENTION that ShapeShifter 1.2 fixes the metal texture issue. Among other things.

(NDA peeps, you may now discuss metal texture to your heart's content. but nothing else.)

I would have liked to have seen
a reemergence of Cappuccino
as it was a very original, elegantly
implemented theme.

If you are referring to how the menus float on the desktop, It might be possible with a Konfabulator widget or some other 3rd party app. If anyone found an app that would do it I would create a skin if need be.

Actually, Unsanity has a great lil' app called Fruit menu. It could use a few more features, but it gets close to the floating menu. I use it and I wouldn't have it any other way.

About NeXT (and I know you have lots of stuff in the pipeline already), are you considering making this variation?

Openstep

I used to love the Kaleidoscope scheme that was made out of the Openstep GUI...

But please do Orbital before that!!!

Mmmm OpenStep. If I knew how to use ThemePark I'd be all about doing an OpenStep theme. (Or any classic OS for that matter)

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but since smeger opened up metal texturing discussion I'd just like to say that while the feeding your cat part of it is currently in development, it is slightly buggy. The skydiving hamsters have been perfected, however.

...damnit I knew those "make yourself funny in only 3 weeks" pills I bought through email weren't going to work.
