The game hasn't started shipping for Macintosh yet, hopefully within a week or two.

Amazon.com is now showing a street date for UT2004/Mac -- "to be released March 31, 2004"

Geez, if they could've stepped up development speed by 2 weeks we could've had a hybrid release
...which would have been very nice for people like me whose best two machines are one Mac and one PC. Oh well

I was hoping for a hybrid release too, been having a blast with the game so far on my Wintendo.
I even tried moving the game over to the Mac, and adding the executibles from the Mac demo. Would have worked, except the demo is smart and knows not to work with retail content based on the error messages left in my console log.
I wish more games were hybrid releases. I buy a game once, not twice.

No. There would have been no hybrid release. Two separate publishers. And had they released the version they had 2 weeks ago, you would all be bitching because of the bugs in the game. At least this way, there are fewer bugs to bitch about.

Hence, "stepped up development speed" rather than "unfinished product"
But I see your point about the publishers. It's still a shame, though!

Yeah - and if they'd have "stepped up development speed" by 4 months, we could have had it by Christmas...
Maybe they forgot to flick the switches on the backs of the developers heads that go from "Slow" to "Fast". I hate it when companies forget to do that.

Im amazed that a one week delay equals a 4 week wait for delivery.. If the first week of April is really true thats just ridiculous. I mean come on. The pc counterpart went GM and the next week was released. The mac takes another week to go GM then 4 weeks to distribute?

At least we don't have to wait a whole year like we did with UT2K3 because OS X wasn't up to snuff... You guys only like to look at the negative side...

yeah, it sucks. However, I did place my order after it went GM, so maybe someone else who placed it earlier has an earlier ship date...?

I just called the Atlanta apple store -- they don't have it yet, and said they should be receiving it within the next couple of days. I'm crossing my fingers to drop by and pick up a copy on Friday.

I was about to call the Apple store in Atlanta as well in hopes I could pick it up after work, but appears they don't have it yet. Let us know when you get yours so I can hop over there.
Can't wait!

Goit it, installed in. Runs amazing everything as high as it goes @1600x1024 on Dual 2 G5/4gb/Radeon 9800Pro. The only thing is, the iSight bug is back, you have to unplug it in order for ut2k4 to boot.

Sweeeeeet! Now that UT2004 is out, I get to wait for MoH: Breakthrough ... then Call of Duty ... then Battlefield 1942 ... then Splinter Cell ... then LOTR: Return of the King ... then Command and Conquer: Generals ... then Black Hawk Down ...
I think most of these games will be in the frickin' bargain bin section before they come to mac...

That bug was fixed. Stupid bug. Simple fix. But one that any (and probably most) programmers have done at some point.

I ordered the full version from Outpost Thursday night at 7:30 PM and it arrived at 9:00 AM this morning (Friday). I'm installing it now! Go Outpost! Next day delivery apparently means 12 hours! I am impressed!

I use to love that about Outpost. Oh, it's 8pm PST and I need a new G4. Get it next morning... The next week, Oh, 8pm again. I need a new 21" monitor in the morning. Get it the next morning... That was back when they offered free shipping on everything.

Nice! I'm from Tucson too, I've got a friend over at Simutek and he'll get me 15% off on UT2k4 and a new 2 button mouse for about half price. I'm going to have to drop him a line asking if it's in.

What I think really sucks about not having it (yet, it will be here tomorrow for me, and I'm going to be out of town ) is that the PC people are already playing it, and learning all the maps, so we are going to get our butts kicked online for awhile!
