There went their chances at getting some of my money.

Once again, another company sacrificing it's long-term survival to boost this quarter revenue. But if they're that stupid, good riddance.

What I don't understand is this bundling of the driver with other software. There are plenty of customer who would just like their older hardware to work with a new OS. Developing a new basic driver is usually not that hard when you have the inside scoop on the hardware and is probably more than worth the effort to keep existing customer happy so they'll buy more of your stuff in the future.

But the damnedest thing about it is that if you go to their non U.S. sites you can download the stuff for free. I just don't understand. I guess they're banking on U.S. customers not bothering to look at their other sites. But jeez you may get some to bite on paying for the updates now but how many of those people are going to buy your products in the future.
