I have a 900 G3 ibook can I use an external burner with it?

Yes, with Toast. I have one, connected via FireWire.

USB burners won't work, since they require USB 2.0.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

I have a Toshiba 4x (R) 2x (RW) burner in an external FireWire enclosure.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
