I have been getting insane amounts of spam along the lines of:

Sender: Mike Richards
Subject: Heya Mike

Sender: Gabe Flynn
Subject: Heya Gabe

Basically the senders first name is always in the subject.

Is there a way to make a rule where if the senders name is in the subject and they are not in my address book I can send it to the junk folder?

There should be.


Have a look in the rules for Mail. maybe check for apple scripts.

Yes, I'm assuming it will need to be done with an applescript. Any ideas on how I would write one? It can't be too difficult to just have a script looking for sender = subject.
