Need a YouTube expert.
I'm trying to Save a .mov I put together with iMovie 5.0.2 so that the final looks decent. The Help feature in 5 is misleading, advising me to choose the "Sorenson" option (which does not exist) during the Share process. I've tried a couple of options but the final looks very low quality.
BTW my original vid was over 14 min. Then I read that the limit was just over 10. Then I read that some non-partner 10 min+ videos do get through but there's no explanation for it. So I edited down what I had to 9:30. Maybe I could try the 14+ and see if it goes first(?)
So, where can I get a step-by-step for uploading to YouTube?
Thanks!!

Encode as h.264 at 8mbps and the limit is 15 minutes now for videos on YouTube. Sorenson is 15 years old and h.264 is far far more efficient and higher quality.

Info appreciated!
The settings that appear when I select this compression type are:
Key frames: Every: 24
Data Rate: Automatic
Frame Reordering box is checked
Any further adjustments needed anywhere?
Also, does my G5 1.6 (OS 10.4.11, 1.5GB RAM) have enough power to accurately play the final .mov?
Thanks!

Why don't you to try it out ?
Who knows what other things you have installed, competing for processing power.

"Trying it out" takes 2-3 hours to save. I've already done it a few times and it chews up too much time. I'd much rather have sound advice before starting.

Oh teh noes, 3 hours ? Do it overnight.
You started this thread 26 hours ago, would it kill you to try converting it and seeing for yourself ?
It's really not possible to exatcly tell how it will perform on an unknown system configuration.

Sarcasm not appreciated -- unless you are clinically insane and then it goes with the diagnosis. Good luck to you...

Ok, whatever. Good luck finding someone doing the work for you since you seem to busy or lazy.

BTW, the "Time remaining" on the compression keeps going up, now over 8 hours! Is that standard?

I figured it out! Got the vid uploaded and it looks good. Seems the the Time Remaining bar would ratchet up to 8 hours and then drop like a stone. But the deed is done. Thanks for the input!
