I can't delete a .avi file.

I downloaded a divx movie to see how cosmopod worked with converting the video for my ipod. Well I got the movie converted mpeg4 but now I can't delete the original download with is an .avi file. When I go to empty the trash it says it can't be deleted because the file is in use the only application I have open is Safari to type this. any help will be appreciated.

Could be some background-process. Run Activity Monitor (or top from the Terminal) and see what's there.

I didn't see anything in activity monitor about it or maybe I don't know what I'm looking for. Anyone else have any ideas.

repair permissions, log out, or shut down.
