Well, my new laptop came to the front door yesterday. I love it! The display is stunning.
I'm happy with the performance.
I bought the BuffaloTech
802.11g card and it solves the poor reception
of the built-in Airport very nicely. The nice thing about this card is that it works seemlessly with the Airport 3.1 software.
No additional drivers to install.

I also upgraded my wireless network and I went from 3mbit/sec with 802.11b to
24mbit/sec with 802.11g. It is a big difference and was well worth the money.

My new machine:

PB 15" tiBook
1Ghz G4
1GB Memory
60GB HD
Superdrive
BuffaloTech Airstation WLI-CB-G54A

I think the BuffaloTech is a PC Card... should be simple to install! No need to open the case.

Paul,

I bought the BuffaloTech Card from MacWarehouse.com for $69

It goes into the PC Card slot on the left side
of the tiBook. Simply plug it in and boot the
machine. Make sure you have the Airport 3.1
software installed.

This card is backwards compatible with 802.11b routers. It should work fine
with older Airport Base stations.

Hope this helps!
