My son has inherited my old 2x2 G5. His plans are simply to use GarageBand, record his music, and occasionally read his email. Unfortunately, his roommate has set-up a wireless network in their apartment, so we need to get him the AE card for the G5.

We're looking for the Airport Extreme card # M8881LL/A

If you have an old Mac laying around with an unused card in it, and are willing to part with the card, or just happen to have a card and are willing to let it go cheap, please PM me and we can discuss price.

Thanks!

Do you know if that's just the "standard" airport extreme card? If so, I have oodles of those.

Not sure about "standard". It's the card Apple sold as a BTO option for the G5s (mine is a circa March-June 2004 2x2 G5) The card looks like this:

Apple actually shipped the G5 towers with the antenna included. It was only the card that was an option.

Thanks. I still have mine. Those things are, apparently, very rare and sought-after, btw.
