A while back I tried to create a new iCloud account for my daughter.

When I try to recreate it it tells me that the address already exists (which is good news).

But when I tell it to send me a password reset email it never comes (gmail). I've tried numerous times, waited hours, and checked the spam folder. Nothing.

Any ideas? Is this account stuck in some kind of never-never-land?

My sons gmail address and iCloud account work fine.

Thanks very much in advance,
Chris

Hmmm. Don't know. it's just a gmail address, and a different gmail address for another account worked fine with that mechanism. So that's probably not it.

I just ran into something like this. Where are you trying to do the reset from: an Apple web page, iTunes, or the iCloud control panel in System Preferences? Try it from System Preferences.

Thanks, I had been trying it from the Apple Web page. I'll try it right from his phone.

I had a similar problem with PayPal reset emails not getting to a Yahoo! account. ???

It took a couple of gyrations and their (automated) phone support to get me logged in so I could change to a Gmail address which works great. I am not aware of anything else being blocked by Yahoo!, so I'm still stumped there, but it certainly was frustrating.

My "convenience" Yahoo! email account seems to be a lot less convenient now.
