With the current price reduction of the ACD's, will we see a price reduction in the Dell WFP's as well? I understand that the Dell 20" and 24" WFP's are still cheaper than the ACD's of similar size, but the 30" ACD is around $200 cheaper than Dell's 30" model. I'm definitely not complaining about the pricing on the Dell models right now, but if there's a price reduction in the near future, I can definitely use one

Edit: Just checked Dell's site. Their 30" WFP's are now $1899. Nice.

Too bad I will never pay for a Dell system again! Well... if circumstances FORCE me to, I would have to...

The last dell I bought was an xps-400 with a Pentium2, I put windows 2000 on it. Are they still as reliable and long lasting as they were back then?
I miss the days of the G5 and XPS Pentium 4 running side by side as high-end machines.

I can't even remember what model my dell is. I believe I bought it 3-4 years ago. It's not a bad machine, but it did give me a lot of grief (I can't blame the system itself completely, sometimes it was my own negligence, but it's easier to blame the computer). I love my Powerbook!

I'm just wondering if I should hold off on an external display right now, just in case Dell reduces their prices on the WFP's.

I went from the Dell straight to the powerbook as well.

Dell doesn't seem to be running the 20-30% off coupons nearly as much as they used to... sometimes there will be a discount on the website, but no more coupons.

Price reductions are better than coupons though. I hate having to wait for them.

Two ways to get a great deal on a Dell WFP, other than patiently waiting for price reduction.

1. Buy it in a bundle and then eBay or Craiglist the computer. (I've done it b4 and probably saved about 40% off list after selling the tower)

2. Do a google search for Dell coupon. Techbargains.com, slickdeals.net and cheapstingybargain are the top three I use for coupon codes and "hot deals"

To get coupons emailed to you, go sign up on dell.com to receive news and updates.

I have a single use 35% off coupon that you can use. Send me a PM if you want it.

35% off Dimension desktops priced $999 or more. Trick here is to buy a cheaper desktop and when you configure it be sure to add the WFP to bring it over $999.

Great tactics aaardal! How big are the savings? Seems to be much more work (and needs a bit of capital to get started) then I intend to put into
