Now we all know vBulletin makes it impossible to find information on forums relating to x86, mac, osx, vpc, usb, php, asp, any computer file type, psx, ps2, psp, gcn, gba, nds, etc thanks to its search system only listening to words of 4 characters and over because the developers were too stupid to realise how often people talk using "acronyms". However vBulletin also falls down on osx version numbers as I've been trying to find out if the powerbook battery issue in 10.3.5 still existed in 10.3.9 but nope can't do that because it doesnt listen to version numbers.
Big fan of everything at MacNN but vbulletin and other limited search systems are starting to get on my nerves

The minimum search string isn't hard-coded by the vB developers, it's a setting site owners can change. In fact, the search here is set to index all words two letters and larger, as well as "X", "9", ".1" etc. I guess the search is just plain broken, again. I'll let the mgmt know so they can rebuild the index or whatever it takes.
