This is a question for 10.2.3

For some reason, my menu items from Apple will not display. When I try to turn them on from system prefs, the box checks then very soon after unchecks itself!

Right now, the only ones that work are items from 3rd party companies that act like mini applications (synergy works for example)

Please help!

I've had that exact same thing happen. Grab yourself a copy of AquaFix, run it, and see what happens. AquaFix is such a lifesaver.
