I received this with the purchase of a Mac Mini when Tiger was released. (back when panther was installed on the machines). This is an Upgrade version of Mac OSX 10.4 Tiger... a previous version of OSX MUST BE INSTALLED in order to work.

Included
- Mac OS X 10.4 Upgrade DVD Disk 1
- Apple iWork '05 Trial Edition
- Welcome to Tiger Guidebook/ Manual

Asking $35 shipped. PM if you are interested.

Does the disk say UPGRADE?
As far as I know Apple never had upgrade versions of the tiger OS.

it's a cpu drop-in version. I got one when I bought my iBook G4. Those machines originally shipped with 10.3, so instead of taking the time to install 10.4 on the HD, they included this "upgrade" so users would still get the latest version of OS X. It requires you to have 10.3.9 installed in order to upgrade to tiger if i'm not mistaken

If I recall correctly, didn't a number of production lots of the Tiger upgrade disc actually just have a couple files changed from a full installation?

I remember reading about people making an image of the DVD, changing a file or two, burning it, and having a fully function Tiger installation disc...

And no, I'm not suggesting doing this. I'm just wondering if what I read was right.
Sell or send me your vintage Mac things if you don't want them.
