I know its been discussed before, but buh-bye "intel inside" and hello "Core™ Duo inside" (at least for the first few new Macs).
Here's what the new logos will look like:
Missing from the above is the Core™ Solo logo, which I'd presume is the not-ready-for-release Yonah single-core chip.
Still not so sure I'd want one of these stickers on my Mac (and my PC is an AMD-based machine, BTW).

I have gone with AMD boards for my PCs mainly because I like to experiment, and AMD processors and appropriate boards (by whatever maker) tend to be less expensive than Intel-based solutions. With that said, I support Intel Macs because Apple will no longer be stuck with a supplier of processors that doesn't bother to improve the products. IBM=Boo, Intel=yay.
I still don't think ANY Intel stickers will go on the cases of Intel-based Macs.

That's amazingly awesome... though I'm not sure if you realize that there is no "p" in "hamster." Might be an inside joke of which I'm not aware.

I know that freaking stickers proudly proclaiming the type of processor housed inside of a case are the norm in the PC world (hardcore gamer/virgins living in their mothers' basement also slap the 'nVidia' and other component mfgr's logos on their too), but they would ruin the asthetics of just about any Apple designed case since the return of SJ.
I'm assuming Apple would forego the 'stickers' and continue their traditional clean-looking designs.
Oh, and shouldn't Apple be trying to push the idea that processor type doesn't matter?
To a geek like me, an intel inside sticker on a mac really says "Hi, I'm just another POS x86 box"

It is. Back in the early days of the Internet (aka 4 years ago ) there was a website called http://www.hampsterdance.com that had silly music and a bunch of animated hamsters dancing.

I think intel pay a little to the manufacturers that include a sticker, its the same for retailers who use that farking jingle in their commericals.
I'm convinced Apple won't use the stickers.

It's not a hamster. It's a gerbil, and we're having him checked out this week. He's been using "dietary supplements" and now he's started to grow an extra leg out the top of his head. It's a sad case, really. Performance enhancement has just gone too far...
Seriously, I don't think they'll even bother with a sticker on the bottom, though we might see an Intel logo in the About This Mac pane. I wouldn't mind that at all; it would make it very obvious that this particular computer was the newest type (and I don't look at my About This Mac pane very often anyway).

I'm hoping that Apple won't use the sticker either.
I could accept the logo in About Mac also.

How about that swishy Intel logo (just the top part) on the top of the polished heatsinks instead of "G6," or whatever they're going to call it. Might not be too bad.

Looks kinda... dainty.
Then again, so do the rest. The VIIV logo more so, though.

I think the problem is that they're combining two logos together, and they're making the brand less important than the company's logo which is kinda dumb.

I dig the Intel logo on it's own but I do not like the cpu badges shown in the pics. I agree with Salty in that the two brand names are too strong and are competing for dominance in the design. You can't just slap a couple or 3 brand logos into a curvy box and call it good.
I think they could've done a better job of tying the Intel name in with the cpu name. Perhaps exaggerate the bottom part of the swoosh and put the cpu name there. If they are hell bent on marketing their cpu branding then they need to drop the Intel logo from the badge altogether.
Whatever the case, the Intel logo is nice, but the cpu badges look awful.

And they're inconsistant. Like the centrino branding has the swooshy thing but then the Pentium Core or whatever they're gona call it looks dumb.
As well Intel's current Pentium Ds have the worst looking badge ever.

Did I just see a TM logo next to the word "Core" in their new logo? I thought you couldn't trademark a common word/name, hence the Blu-ray brand, because they were not allowed to trademark Blue...
Of course, that could not explain why Apple was able to register its name.. any lawyer?

I stole this:
A common word, phrase, or other sign can only be removed from the public domain to the extent that a trademark owner is able to maintain exclusive rights over that sign in relation to certain products or services, assuming there are no other trademark objections.
