Being iSight-less, are there any 30fps webcams that will work with a Mac Pro? What about a Windows compatible (Logitech?) webcam with a Mac driver? Ecamm's iMage is only 16fps plus you need an external mike. IOXperts (Firewire) Webcam Driver 1.1 for Mac OS X
( USB Webcam Driver for Mac OS X) doesn't support Intel Macs. They say to use Apple's driver. Which drive is this? Suggestions and advise please.

Yes; it works with all Macs running Leopard (and maybe Tiger, I don't know).

You're welcome to buy any UVC compatible webcam you find. Buy a used iSight if you'd like. The Xbox camera is just cheap and known to work well.

I ask because my iSight does not work with my MacPro 8-core. After a minute or two picture & audio distorts then just freezes. Works fine on the G4...
Many others report same issue with iSight.

Wow, that's lame. Apple has had a pretty poor history with iSight compatibility.

You could also use a digital camcorder as a webcam.

I use my isight with my mp (2.66/ 4 core) and its fine. Funny, friends made fun of me for plunking 60$ for a used isight but IMO you can bat the fact that its has autofocus... and mic built in.
