It toggles between password necessary to stop the screensaver and no password necessary. I think you can get it from the keychain app.

Absolutely.

That's a Konfabulator Widget. Go to Konfabulator's website to check it out. Pretty sweet stuff.

Azzgunther,
Nice setup, a real mix of old and new: from the IIe box to the 21" Display to the MDD.
Thanks for the advice on the keychain app, I've been looking for something like that for ages!

Thanks, Phil.
I'm basically getting the best features for the least amount of money...even though the hardware doesn't really look so great side-by-side. Glad you found out how to lock the screen after all this time!

Azz, this might sound strange, but I really like that table lol.
Sad too because it's what I'd usually consider ugly. Is it really wood? looks like something from ages back

Yeah, it's real wood.
I have a very woodsie room so maybe you like it because it fits the theme of the room?
Now if only Apple made monitors with Oak cases....

I like it, but sadly I'm kinda against using wood like that...
Then again.. darnit.. I can't help but say I like it *smacks head into wall*

I've just been quickly browsing through
this thread and saw that some folks
are still using Next Stations. Do you
guys know where I could find a cheap one
and how much I should except to pay for
one of these "old-timers" ?
Thanks in advance,

It is already 14 pages, maybe a new thread would be better, it got off topic of late.

these threads always get a little slow when no new towers are out... wait till the next ones are out and then we can see all the lucky people who've just bought them showing them off... (hopefully me included... if we see the 970 that is..)

Man, if the Cube returned in earnest (preferably with a PPC 970 chip) I would be incredibly tempted to get one. As it stands, I'm not too eager to get one and promptly have to replace half the components (new video card, CPU, hard disk, and so on) just to get a modern machine. If I got the Cube or the replacement components for free, however...

Oh that would be incredible. Does the 970 run hotter/cooler than the g4 does?
I wonder if it's even possible. Seems that the market would be more ready to accept a Cube system today than it was then. It was ahead of its time no doubt.

A new cube would just be.... awesome. I think Mac users are ready for an inaudible PowerMac computer now that we've heard the MDDs

Love the flourescent music not lamp, despite its level of tackiness!
Edit: Hmm, maybe starting a fresh pic thread would be a good idea, instead of having to wade through 15 pages for anyone who hasn't visited this thread yet? Just an idea. The thing is almost two years old.

No way dude.
When I first got here I loved spending a half hour at a time checking out settups from the past and present.
If a new thread were started, all those old settups would be lost. I'm sure there are a few people like me that'd hate to see them disappear.

I agree 100%.
This is a historical document man.
If somebody wants to see only new setups he can just flip to the last page.

Well, I'm in college, living at home in a relatively small 2 bedroom condo with my father and older brother, here in the boonies of San Diego. My choices are to either work while people are loudly chewing their cereal, or work while blaring hip hop and a 25 year old man with a bong are ruining my concentration on the sweet, sweet educational prOn in my bed room. Since my dad isn't around too often, I get more privacy here, but much as I like a thrill, I still wish I could masturbate in a room with a door.

Well, a large majority of the setup pics are gone from the early pages anyway. It was just an idea. Make of a PDF of it if it's so historical.

Too much work. Easier just to keep the old threads where they are in case we wanna read about what life was like in the primitive 01's.

I finally finished my set-up. Here is a pic of my New powermac with 20" cinema display accompanied by the 17" PB. The desk from hold everything fits perfect. JBL creatures make the room full of great sound. Im very psyched and lucky!

P.S. Where'd you get the gawjus desktop pic? finding nice pictures for my 20" display has not been easy.
