I am having a bit of a problem in the past few days. Everything is fine *except* when typing. The text appears a bit slugish (kind of a delay and not that smooth typing you would expect.) I am running Mac OS 9.2.2, and I don't know of anything that would cause this. Others use my computer, so it could be something was installed, though I will never find out for sure. Any ideas?

Ditch 9.2. Get 9.1 full, or 9.04 if you can't get a FULL CD of 9.1.
Downgrade the CarbonLib if you don't wanna ditch 9.22.
What computer are you running? It makes a big diff with the later versions of OS9.

im experiencing the same problem- the whole system slows to a crawl aftr about 1/2 hr- the fix (from what ive read on macfixit forums) is to downgrade the apple cd/dvd extension to version 1.4.3. (btw, this is on a dual800) you can get it from here
http://homepage.mac.com/macdgm/Drive...r1.4.3.sit.hqx
im unsure whether the latest dvd player dl will solve it- i know i dont have the most recent, and they may include a fixed extension in the installer.
<<edit>>
been using it for about 4hrs now- it seems to have solved the problem

I am running a B&W g3/400MHz.
I have been running Mac OS 9.2.2 for quite some time (since the day it came out)... so I think the OS is OK, but there is something conflicting.

the only other problem seems to be with the iomega driver- if you have the ltest one, you need a zip disk in the drive for it to work properly- perhaps someone updated you iomegaware? again , downgrade- i think version 2.7.2 is ok- try both this+ the older cd/dvd extension (which worked for me)

You wouldn't by any chance have a link to that iomega driver would you?

I've found that if you have an internal zip drive and your computer goes to sleep the zip drive doesn't completely wake up. Simply inserting a zip disk into the drive seems to cure the slow down for me.

Still happening. Don't know why. Tried everything mentioned. No success.

Did you downgrade CarbonLib?
Downgrade the Audio CD driver; or remove it to test whether it's the perpetrator.
Downgrade QuickTime (disable to test).
