Hi, I'm a little confused. iChat is available in Apple OS X, but there's also www.aim.com where you can download the latest AIM software for AOL IMs. Are both the same or is one better than the other? Thank you very much in advance.

Pretty much the same

You also may want to check out Adium (adiumx.com). They have a tabbed message viewing window, which I love. My desktop is cluttered enough as it is...

Adium for sure (if you can live without AIM file transfer, video and audio chat)

I've used it for a long time now. The best out there.

cheers

Another vote for Adium. I have used it for years and it's easily my top-5 OS X applications.

Adium sucks! It doesn't do file transfers very well, or at all. iChat has all the necessary stuff and there's no ads to clutter up your buddy list. I have always used iChat from day one and it's been awesome. Also, AIM for Mac sucks even more than Adium, it's klunky and doesn't feel like an OS X App.
