Although I did read the note, CharlesS doesn't show his full name in his sig (nor does he want it mentioned in the forums at all, apparently) and I read the story on slashdot first, so there was little reason to think it was him.

frdmfghtr: it is important to keep things in perspective. Do you know *any* ISP or host serving DNS requests to people using OS X? Apple's slow response and interest in this area is one of many reasons why OS X is not used accordingly. Therefore, I doubt that anybody has been affected.
It's very self defeating of Apple, but Mac users shouldn't have to worry.
