I don't know much about compiling stuff under UNIX. But I do know a little about C and FFT's. So I thought it might be a good idea to rewrite parts of the very popular open-source LAME MP3 encoder to take advantage of Altivec.

So here's my first question:

1) How to compile LAME from the standard source (3.90) on OSX 10.1.5?

I'm going to need this info to compile cleanly first, then make my edits and recompile to see if I can get Altivec working...

Any help would be appreciated...
