That'd be thoroughly broken. God knows quickscopers were dangerous enough. Imagine if they could be silenced.

If snipers were any more powerful, there's no way I'd play the game.

That's asking a bit much, as it is the Intervention with SP will one-hit-kill on any torso or limb hit.

I know that I'm asking alot but ...

When you have one (a sniper rifle), and you run, you shouldn't be able to run as fast as someone with an SMG - like the stats here say you can.

The other thing is quick scoping. While I admire the skill, you just cannot raise a 50 cal that fast, so IMHO quick scoping with a sniper shouldn't be possible.

So, if you could die from one shot to the torso from a silenced sniper, I wouldn't expect the snipers to also be able to quick scope or run fast.

But don't you think that a sniper - of ALL weapons - should be a one hit kill WITHOUT SP? I mean most Intervention using S&Ders would also have SP. To me it shouldn't be necessary.

I think the solution to quickscoping is pretty simple. Introduce exaggerated sway for the first half or full second you pull up a scope after moving. Or, introduce greater sway when standing (and less when prone).

I am still toying with the idea of pre-ordering this. I suppose we would have a small crew of around ten?

Copied from 7 sins

=================================================
Tier 1:
Lightweight Pro = Faster Aim After Sprinting
Scavenger Pro = Extra Magazines
Ghost Pro = No Red name, Crosshair
Hardline Pro = Change your Care Pack reward
Flak Jacket Pro = Reduced Fire Based Damage

Tier 2:
Hardened Pro = Your guess is as good as mine...
Scout Pro = Less Scope Idle Sway
Steam Aim Pro = Less Recoil
SoH Pro = Faster ADS ( doesn't work on snipers )
Warlord Pro ( Bling Pro ) = Two Attachments For You Secondary Weapon

Tier 3:
Marathon Pro = No falling damage
Ninja Pro = Move through Motion Sensors / Camera Spikes without being noticed.
Second Chance Pro ( Last Stand Pro ) = Use equipment as well as guns
Hacker Pro = Turn Enemy Equipment Into Friendly Equipment
Tactical Mask Pro = Reduced effect of Nova Gas, other special grenades.
=================================================

Love the Hacker Pro idea. And quickscoping with a sniper is no more. Excellent.

Seems like the typical cheevos for a COD game. Beat it on veteran, collect the intel, etc. I do like that mixed up some zombie ones within it.

Black Ops will block party chat in some modes

... but not as many modes like in MW2.

"We have that same restriction in certain playlists where they can use party chat to exploit the game mode. For example, Search and Destroy. Search and Destroy is one of those cases where it's really critical that you don't share information with anybody on the other team because it's a very tactical, hardcore game mode."

While the full list of which modes will/won't allow party chat is being kept under wraps, Bunting confirmed that the restriction will apply to fewer modes than it did in Modern Warfare 2, stating that "We've taken it out of any game mode where it doesn't make sense to have it."

It's also been specified that Team Deathmatch isn't one of those modes, so Xbox Live Parties will work as standard when playing TD online.
Makes sense. Glad you can party chat on Team Deathmatch.

Zombie news!

Potential spoiler warning: one of the Zombie Maps in Black Ops - unlocked after you beat the campaign - is set in The Pentagon, allowing you to play as Presidents JFK and Richard Nixon, Cuban Prime Minister Fidel Castro and infamous Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara. As if COD wasn't mad enough already!

sek, did you pre-order off amazon yet?

Between the $20 back for Halo, the $10 back for it coming late, and the $10 back for Fable getting upgraded to $20 back, I ended up paying $11 with release day shipping.

Just did last night, only had 10 bucks off from Vegas, but it gave me '200 pre-order points' which I read amounts to around 20 dollars off my next purchase.

At this rate I think I really need to stave off buying anything else until Portal 2. Pretty stoked for Black Ops actually. Vegas is a great single player game, but I miss our times on CoD with full crews, getting called campers, and shitting on teams 7500-2500.

Is your whole crew getting it?

I just checked, apparently Activision didn't want any monetary offers with it, so Amazon side-stepped them. God I ****ing love you Amazon.

I just beat Fable's main storyline, so I'll need something to do next week (As I've soured on Halo fully).

Just pre-ordered it today from Best Buy. Had a $20 gift card from pre-ordering Reach and I had $60 in rewards from the Gamerzone membership. Didn't pay a penny for the game and I still have $15 left over (plus another $5 for pre-ordering Black Ops) towards a future purchase.

So, crosbie predicted the Reach thread would outgrow the MW2 thread, if not the 3 thread. Anyone wanna make any predictions on this thread?

I'm hoping that with the films you can do, there will be endless discussions of how stupid people look just before dieing.

Trouble is, Mr. Sek will be too preoccupied to post due to zombie massacre addiction.

Well, that's my thinking. Theater was a huge part of the 3 thread, but it waned by the time of ODST and only slightly reignited with Reach. I guess time will tell if its the game of the feature.

After meditating a bit on the Forge mode, I figure its DOA (for us) as we played customs twice and we put a ton of time into MW2.

Eh, no comparison would do it justice so I'll simply describe it the best I can.

Game consists of staying alive and collecting points to spend on weapons, upgrades, and Zombie traps around the map. Points also unlock doors to the res of the map as you start in one room that will be your tomb by Round 4 if you don't move on. Windows are able to be boarded up to slow the zombies progression, but at a certain point you can no longer be bother to do that.

Round 1
You've got really slow and weak zombies, you'll kill all of them before they rip a few boards down on your windows

Round 4
Several Zombies will make it into your room by now, and might even take a sleeping friend by surprise. You must open up the level to access better weapons and perks.

Round 10
Shit has gotten real serious. You no longer have the ability to board up any windows. Zombies are faster, in greater numbers and take more of a pounding. By now you should have something automatic that can get headshots and at least one perk. it is also good to have most of the level unlocked because there is no place to hold up and you must constantly move.

Round 20
You will only get this far with great practice, good teammates, proper distribution of points, and the learned skill of the 'zombie train' that allows you to heard your horde into traps and/or the aim of your good weapons. From here on you will need to be Barry Sanders to survive.

In not-so-short terms. When you first play Zombies the first 4 levels are almost a joke, this is it eh? Then you WILL be ass-raped come Round 5, like clockwork. Then you'll play a half-dozen times and make it to Round 8-10. At that point you are usually downed by zombies in a massive horde as you plink BBs off their skulls. How on Earth can you get to Round 20? The ability to do well in the game relies on the inflated sense of urgency the game atmosphere creates. You can out-walk (without sprint) even the fastest zombies, so all you need to do is keep you cool and plan your route and you can (technically) never die. However, the shit hits the fan at an alarming pace in this game. If your friend gets downed by zombies upstairs and you already have your hands full, then you can look forward to every zombie on the map that had a taste for your friend heading to you now. It's not the same as L4D, but it emphasizes team work in almost the same degree.

I mean, it's no secret I love this game, but I think you guys would too. The action is incredibly hectic and extremely addictive. I honestly didn't get that addicted to a game since Portal came out.

Yes, and no. I think the game stands by itself as a really well balanced infinitely replayable challenge.

My buddy Cheezy isn't into Zombie or horror shit at all, and he LOVES this game as much as I do. In fact it is pretty much all he plays besides MW2.

Nazi Zombie gameplay footage

That level looked pretty fun, although I wish they didn't bring back the hell hounds. Hard to kill if you're not properly set up.
