Is it possible to disable live searching in the Finder toolbar? I'm finding it annoying, slow and if you accidentally spell a word wrong what's the point of waiting for results?

On my computer if I make a mistake the delay in deleting and characters is almost always negligible, though if you want I'd imagine you can call up Command+F and search the good old fashioned way.

Command+F means I would have:

-One Finder window.
-One Find window.
-One results window.

That's not practical. It's still an annoyance. There must be a hack to disable live file searching!

Why "must" there?

Besides, I would imagine it's hard-coded into the Finder.

Maybe there are some hack apps on versiontracker you could search for.

You need to get USB iBrator. Then you get a toolbar icon with a dial Slow>Medium>Fast>Orgasm.
