I just burned a CD-R in the Finder and it is showing-up as MacOS Extended in the Get Info window.\

I need to give this disc to a PC user...

Is this normal - I never noticed it before?

It should be fine. The disks burned in the Finder are burned in such a way that they appear to be a native disk to both operating systems.

Just fyi...Depending on how their PC is set-up, your PC user might be able to see the invisible files (.DS_Store, for instance) MacOS includes along with the visible files. This can sometimes confuse a PC user.
