I just read that Leopard has the ability to scan over bonjour based networking. Does this mean that my HP all-in-one printer that is attached to my AEBS will finally be able to scan?
Thanks!

Where'd you see that? That's great news, if you're right though...I love wireless printing but its a pain to have to un plug and re plug just for a quick scan.

I read it in the 300.html leopard features list.
Network Scanning Support
Take advantage of new Bonjour-based network scanners, Leopard leads the way with the technology required to allow scanning over a network. (and it was in the "imaging" section so its not talking about network port/device scanning

Not sure why that's there considering Tiger has this too.

That's for AIOs with network ports... the AEBS usb port only supports the printer.

And that will probably only work with the AIO's non-printer features if the manufacturer provides a network driver for it. That's the biggest problem with any AIO on a network-you MUST have network-aware drivers to be able to do anything more than print.

Some networked AIOs (HPs come to mind) have a web interface for the non-printer features.

Yeah, but they're the higher end models anyway. The USB AIOs almost all refuse to do much more than print over a network, and with a lot of other companies' offerings, even the ones with built in ethernet don't come with drivers. It's a case of doing a LOT of homework before you buy-and keeping your receipt just in case...
