What should I do to avoid following reports after inserting a blank CD in my G4 ?
"CD is unreadable by the system - eject or initialise"
or

"eject or prepare for burning" etc.

What is going on ?? I just want to switch on the Toast and burn what I like

Which extension should I switch off ?

For me to avoid that in either os 9 or X, I insert the blank media first, then immediately launch Toast & no pop-up messages. Someone else perhaps has a simpler fix?

It must be some normal solution, otherwise it looks quite stupid. What even more - after removing the recorded CD, there is still an icon and report as if another CD remains there - a nd you are ask to "eject it", quite strange...
