expansion bay problem in X.1

Well, now that I've upgraded to the Xcellent 10.1, the good ole VST expansion bay hard drive is acting very strange indeed.

It copies files for 15 seconds, then rests for 45 seconds. I've tried everything, so now I've booted back into 9 to zero out the drive. This VST device is native and has no drivers.

And lemmie ask you, is there anything more basic than copying files across volumes?

...oh yeah, I must add that the drive works fine in everything except 10.1
