That is what my hard drive sounds like under OSX. I've got 128mb of RAM and I haven't even thought about launching Classic yet...

Otherwise it is pretty cool.

I noticed the same thing. I think for once you are hearing your HD get a work out. OS 9 has crappy file IO. OS X has not crappy file IO.

You guys may think I'm crazy, but my hard drive actually seems quiter now, than under OS 9.

Or maybe it's just this euphoria clouding my judgement...

I agree. For whatever reason, my iBook 466Mhz seems quieter now under OSX.

Nah. Can't be...

Check to see if your hard drive is fragmented...a friend suggested this and I looked at mine with Norton. For some reason, OS X installed in a huge, fragmented mess. A quick run with Norton took care of that and everything got much, much quicker. Give it a try -- your hard drive will chug less, too.
