hi,

im selling an old mac of mine ,
and including MS Office for it
(OS X _ Office X)

well the prospect buyer is a writer,
and she i a pc user ,
this would be her first mac . . .

she claims that on the mac - MS Office looks different
she says that 12pt type doesnt look like 12pt type,
i tried adjusting the magnification of the document,
but she was unsatisfied,
she claims that on every pc she ever used it looked the same,
and i could not duplicate it for her on the mac,
i even tried changing the resolution . . .

anyone have any recommendations ?
i really need to sell this mac -

thanks you,

- motech

I think she's seeing the difference between the normal dpi of windows and macs. It's going to look different no matter what you do.

I would think rather than worrying about trying to make it look exactly the same, you should sell her on what's different (i.e. no worries about viruses, no crashes, easy to use, etc.)

Print something from the PC Word and print the same thing on the Mac Word and show her that they come out looking the same.

Yup, this issue also often comes up with web page rendering (Windows standard 96 dpi vs Mac standard 72 dpi).
