I just got my first mac and transfered my music over to the PB and itunes can't play the windows media player files i have. I ripped all of my cd's over using that program is there anything i can do. Perferably something easy and fast because i have like 5-8 gigs of music. Thanks
Just bought a PB 15', 1g ram, 80HD, 128 vid. First Mac.

Not much I can think of off the top of my head, but if it's only 5 to 8 GB, why not just rerip them into iTunes? MP3 and AAC are standards that will play anywhere.

There are numerous .wma to .mp3 converters for windows. Download one (most are shareware), pay the $10 or so (ie crack), then convert them all overnight.

Also, I believe iTunes in windows can convert .wma files, so you may want to try that first,

Now you understand why Microsoft is EVIL. Windows Media locks you into the Windows Media format. Their evil plan is that ordinary folks won't understand what they're doing and will just use Windows Media as their default--you did.

There is a Mac program that will convert them for use in iTunes--EasyWMA.

iTunes can convert wma to mp3. if it's only 5-8 gigs I'd personally just re-rip the cd's. if you just drag and drop the files into the iTunes library window it should begin converting them from wma.
