Hi All,

I am fairly new to video editing and have a newbie question.

I have a movie I shot with a digital video camera. A friend downloaded it and made a QuickTime movie for me.

OK, Now what I want to do is convert it back to a DV format so I can do some editing and add titles and other cool stuff in iMovie. I heard that you can do this with QT Pro, which I own (QT Pro 6).

I tried this by saving as a DV stream, and trying to open in iMovie.
It didn't work. Does anyone know how I can get it converted so I can open and edit it in iMovie?

Just a little more info for you I am using an 400mhz iMac DV slotloading, which the slotloading cd/dvrom is shot. Which means my friend can't give it to me on a DVD in DV format.

I have the following software for digital video editing and such:

QT Pro
iMovie v1.0
Cleaner 5.0

Thanks,
Bill

what do you mean it didn't work? Did you put it in the media folder of an iMovie project, or try to import it from the menu? as far as I know, either should work, but I'm trying to help you narrow down the problem. Are both the project and the files in the same format (PAL/NTSC)?
blackmail is such an ugly word. I prefer extortion. the X makes it sound cool

I tried to import from the file menu.
It is in NTSC format.
If you need any other info please let me know.
