I have a macbook pro which has started behavingly strange - when it starts up, the display settings is set as an external VGA, but nothing is connected. When I then press the detect display button it changes back to the normal, internal screen setting. Then after restart it is back to VGA settings again.
I have tried it in several accounts, repaired permissions, zapped PRAM - still the same result. I haven't got another Intel machine, so I can't try starting it up from another machine.

Any suggestions?

TIA
Peter
