I'm looking for a good bar code scanner for some projects I've got at work. I don't want to blow the bank on one, but it has to not give me any headaches, since I've got enough of those already.

I'm talking plug and play, super easy, etc.

Thanks!

John

check out: Easy Barcode Technologies - we're making barcodes easy! or Azalea Software, Inc. barcode software and barcode fonts for printing bar codes

I cannot personally vouch for the quality of the scanner, but I know that the barcode software I received from easy barcode tech is headache free, and that the scanner I saw on their site was not expensive. Azalea also seems like a good company. Good luck.

Here at work we use a software barcode scanner. It's for graphic design to make sure the barcode is reading correctly for printing purposes. I don't know if that's what you were talking about or not but, it's called Fine Line DVT (Digital Varification Tool). It's compatible with Illustrator CS and CS2.
