We bought our house at the beginning of 2011, and we moved in the beginning of August.

Tonight, stone cold sober, was the first time that I peed in the garden.

Congrats! Home ownership is a great feeling. Feel free to pee on the mailbox post, as well...preferably at about 3:00 when all the school buses are making their rounds.

Needs a better perspective. Get a dog, this alone will truly teach you who is boss.

I haven't peed in my garden since I took ownership of the place, but I grew up in my house so I have done so long ago.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

While our house was being built, we visited the site frequently. (The construction crews knew we were on top of things, and I think that got us less problems in the long run.) One weekend, we brought our dogs with us, and as we wandered through the place, with only basic wall framing in place, one of the dogs decided that the wall separating the walk in shower from the tub was "his," and appropriately indicated such in dog fashion. Fortunately, there was plenty of sawdust around, so his "signature" was pretty symbolic but not much else. Since then, there hasn't really been a point to me repeating his gesture, especially outdoors. Besides, 6 foot tall privacy fences only help when everybody is at ground level, but all the houses here are at least a couple of feet above grade...and the dogs do a fine job of indicating ownership on a regular basis.

There's a story that I bet you don't want to get into on a public forum eh?

Looks like its going to be a cat that we'll be getting. I'm a dog fan btw.

Isn't this where an incest joke gets the thread into the Pol/War Lounge?

Building a house is an adventure. Mine is essentially built on sticks. Never peed in the garden though. Wait a minute, I don't have a garden.
