I have no idea what clues to give other than it wasn't Glenn Danzig. He had a couple of one-hit-wonders back in the 90s. He was really built-up and went shirtless a lot. I remember some video had him all red-painted in the face, and he looked like a marine or something.

Any ideas?

That Big Guy That Yelled In That Rock Band?

What a catchy name for a band.

You don't mean Henry Rollins?

Rollins sounds like a good guess.

For some reason Queensrÿche came to mind first.

True story:

Back in the 80's I was attending a Monsters of Rock festival at Donnington. Some 70,000 people were there to enjoy the auditory delights which only 80's rock can provide. Dave (as we shall call him because I can't remember his name and since everyone I know is called Dave that was probably his name anyway) came running up and panted...

"Have you seen my Mrs? I've lost her."

Not having met Dave's missus, we answered truthfully...

"Never met her, so don't know what she looks like, Dave".

To which Dave then said:

"Well, she's about 5'8", got long hair; wearing jeans, a t-shirt and leather jacket".
Been inclined to wander... off the beaten track.
That's where there's thunder... and the wind shouts back.

"Liar" has a great video too.

And then
You meet me
And your whole world changes
Because everything I say is everything you've ever wanted to hear
So you drop all your defenses and you drop all your fears
And you trust me completely
I'm perfect
In every way
Cause I make you feel so strong and so powerful inside
You feel so lucky
But your ego obscures reality
And you never bother to wonder why
Things are going so well
You wanna know why?
Cause I'm a liar!
Yeah I'm a liar!

I wasn't talking to you, go listen to Debbie Gibson. I was talking to anyone in the thread who didn't say "black flag is awesome". Don't call me a noob- the link takes me to a page on the internet. Therefore, it works.

did you mean cause it didn't take you to the correct page? sorry bud.

yeah, nOOb. it sends people to an equivalent of a 404 error. so it didn't work. unless you meant to send everyone to a page showing how you can't make the internet thing work.

Just to clarify, though, "Liar" was the Rollins Band, not Black Flag.

Rollins is outstanding and Black Flag is essential 80s hard core, I'm particularly fond of gimmie gimmie gimmie and black coffee. Anyway, Rollins is also a good writer (IMO), if your a black flag fan, give Get in the Van a try, otherwise, the Portable Henry Rollins and Black Coffee Blues are also good.
