Since we have yet another generation of Powerbook on our hands, I figured that it would be interesting to see how many people are using the new models versus the previous ones. Hence, a poll.

If you'd like, feel free to mention any interesting anecdotes regarding your TiBook, like others' initial reactions to it and so forth.

Just got a new 1ghz a couple of weeks ago. I've been waiting patiently for a long time for a powerbook and am so happy with it.

I'm still debating over an iBook 800 640 MB RAM or a PowerBook G4 867... but then again if I spent that much for a PowerBook I would probably go for the 1 GHz ComboDrive. Double the video RAM (64 MB DDR ATI Mobility 9000) will play NASCAR 2002 better

Sorry! If you have more than one, just pick the most recent model you have.

And CheesePuff: if you're interested in a gaming machine (and you don't already have a desktop that handles this task), then the 1 GHz model is the way to go. Otherwise, you only want a Powerbook if you need or want the G4 and/or the larger display.

PowerBook 867/768MB/40GB , I'm ordering it today (or maybe even buying it

, if they have one at the store). 1Ghz models are WAY overpriced in Europe. First I was doubting beween the 867G4 or the iBook 800 14", but not anymore

After using a PB 5300, PB 1400 and several PC Laptops

I come "Back to Mac" with a Ti400 (earliest adaptor) and now after using a Ti867

for some days (giving back because of fan) I have a Ti 1 Ghz/Combo

The Ti 400 is now on the desk of my wife, the PB 5300 in the shelf and I try to hide the PC Laptops

I picked up a 2 month old 667 dvi powerbook from a friend for a song and love it. Sold my powermac to get it and don't regret it one bit!

I just sold my G4/466 Digital Audio Powermac on Ebay. Yesterday I ordered a 1Ghz Powerbook with the superdrive and 1GB of ram. I can hardly wait to get it!!

I'm hoping to get another year or two out of my Pismo 500 until I get a new one. By then, it'll be some new PowerBook concoction with a multi-Ghz chip. That will be some excellent pickens.

I got my PowerBook from a CompUsa store here in Texas. It was an "open-box" return model. They told me $1700. I got them to throw in the $200 SoundSticks, the Apple Protection Plan ($350), and the Screen Protection through CompUSA ($150) and tax. It totaled $2165 including tax. But then I realized that I didn't need the Apple Protection or the CompUSA screen protection so I returned these. So I ended up paying $1665 for a 667Mhz G4 Powerbook and got the Apple Soundsticks and tax. I think it was a pretty good deal. So far so good.

Sorry I wasn't clear on the math. $2165 was the FINAL price I paid after negotiating with them.

A lot of people here seem to be leaping on the new Powerbooks... is there any wonder why all the vendors were hit with shipping delays initially (or still have them)?

Not that I'm complaining... after all, this (as well as the new iBook) is definitely a big boost to Apple in a sales quarter that needs it.
