Your Powerbook's practical battery life in 10.2?

I'm interested in seeing how long a Powerbook lasts using Jaguar, since I'm interested in getting one if I can. If you don't see yourself using 10.2 in the near future, that's alright, but be sure to note which version of OS X you have!
My definition of "practical" use is standard use of office apps, maybe running iTunes in the background, and things like that. Running games or playing DVDs are generally not advised while on a laptop without AC power, no matter who makes it.  Please let me know what your power management settings are if you can, as well.

I certainly view DVD's when not on AC power. What the hell else am I gonna do on a long flight? ;-)
I believe 10.2 has a specific "View DVD" power saving mode which should give better battery life -- haven't tried it yet tho'. I'm at work on a PC right now so I can't watch.
Practical life is right around 2 hours, so your poll is a bit too granular. I'd say 2 hours +/- 15 minutes... about the same as with 10.1 though there's the "save battery" option on the newest PowerBooks... not sure if it's also on other models... It's on my 800 DVI.

The best way to conserve battery power, if your eyes can take it, is to turn sreen brightness almost all the way down.
That said, depending on what I'm doing, I generally get something over 2 hours of power...usually not as much as 3 hours though, unless I'm really not doing much at all.

In 10.1 I would get between 4 and 5 hours, when viewing a DVD, I would get around 2-3 hours. In Jaguar, I get about 1 hour less. I haven't viewed a DVD in Jag yet.

What kind of PowerBook are you talking about?
