Is Apple (or just the company's fans) on some sort of subtle marketing campaign these days? It seems as though half of the shows and print ads that have any sort of computer in them have a PowerBook G4 clearly visible in at least one scene (though the Apple logo is often eliminated to avoid legal wrangling). Maybe it's the new "chic" thing to own?

Here's what I can remember seeing the 15" PowerBook in, just in recent memory:

- that notorious Gateway "Shoot Edit Jam" ad
- Sum 41's latest video
- a Cadbury's Cream Egg commercial
- a Whitney Houston video
- Bell Sympatico High Speed print and online material

Feel free to note other places you've seen the PowerBook in the media in recent months. You can also opt to sympathize with someone who's being overly self-conscious regarding their laptop of choice.

I don't think the 'hip and stylish' image would go off with a alienware area51-m quite as well as it does with a powerbook

HGTV. In every damn commercial they have, but sometimes the OS is funky, but you can clearly see they're macs, sometimes even the apple logo is showing

Oh yeah, discovery and TLC as well, I believe the guy who made the ones for discovery comes on spymac every now and then.

*grin* it rocks. Seems like there's some conspiracy going on

On CBS a show called CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) had a Powerbook on it as their "analysis" laptop but the Apple is is somehow covered up..

2 x Macbook Pro's 17" 3.06 4 GB RAM, 256GB Solid State drives
iMac 17" Core Duo 1GB RAM, & 2 iPhones 8GB, and a Nano in a pear tree!

For the retro -minded here, just happened to watch a Sylvester Stallone movie this weekend from 1996 (can't remember the title, but he's a hit man with remorse, Antonio Banderras is the "bad guy" and Julianne Moore (?) is the female interest), but powerbook 540c's played a huge roll. Everyone communicated all the deadly "jobs"...somehow, it seemed, completely wirelessly from trains, hotel rooms, abandoned buildings! Anyone else see this

Powerbooks are all over most of my favorite shows.
Sex and the City has long featured Apple portables. Each episode usually begins with the main character (Carrie) writting on her Pismo. Other characters have other models - the lawyer (Miranda) has a Titanium, and the innocent girly-girl (Charlotte) has an iBook. A couple seasons ago an episode centered around her mac getting a sad mac crash which resulted in a funny scene in which "control alt delete" was not compatible.
Six Feet Under has them here and there. One of the main characters (Brenda) was writting her novel on a Titanium.
24 has lots of them - portables galore and Apple displays.
The whole CSI lets cover up the Apple logo thing is weird, I guess they want some compensation before it is displayed.
I believe Alias has featured some too.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans will note a long history of Macs (used by Willow, of course!). Last season we saw the Warren gang using several of the displays.

Apart from Willow's Powerbook, Buffy has a new imac on her desk at the school.

"Just Shoot Me" on NBC has a number of Ti's floating around, but they always stick a post-it over the apple, a late 90's HBO movie with David Arquette called RPM features a 550c with a wireframe program running on it, pretty random, but I just saw it the other night. Also, isub's are used in the movie A.I.

i the netherlands there is a TV series called "Rozegeur en Wodka-Lime", which is basically a nationalised version of Sex and the City.

They features apple's (tibooks and snow ibooks) for several seasons but just this season "switched" to PC portables. the whole "we chat" experience just doesn't quite cut it now

MacBook Pro 13"/2.66 (09/2010), Mac Mini c2d/1.83 (01/2008)

hey, exactly, when he shows her one of the advantages of the 21st century, the internet.

But I especially like this one:

Sandra Bullock used a Ti Powerbook in " Two Weeks Notice " with the Apple Logo on Full display a number of times.
