Is there a way, on the desktop, that when I right click for the context menu and select Sort By:Kind, that I can set the way in which the OS sorts the drives...

Right now it goes like this:
my internal hdd with the 2 partitions listed,
then the first partition of my USB drive which is mac formatted
then a disk image
then the second partition of the usb drive which is windows.

I'd like to order it so that I can put
my internal 2 parts
the USB parts
Firewire parts
THEN disk images.

Thanks.
Backups are like guns and condoms. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

I don't think you can change the Finder's default Kind search order, but you can put the drives where you want them and they will stay in those places in Leopard, as opposed to Tiger and below.
