Everyone's favorite Penguin Toss is back with a very different twist and from a different site...but same basic idea.

Toss the anime-style people!

Edit: I changed the link to point to my own server so as not to sap the poor guy's bandwidth (look at his homepage). It should load a bit faster now as well.

Reading the directions helps...there are combos and things that you can do, which I just realised now.

For some reason the instructions are showing up in Chinese or something. Is my browser set to the wrong encoding?

Gar, I had 7379.4 or so but I didn't screen cap it because it was just too easy. I thought it was never going to end

I really like this version. The idea of having different characters provide different effects is neat, and the graphic effects are superb. I do wish the instructions were in a language I could read, though.

To aerial-crash, you have to click when the word "AERIAL" is red or blue. Red does an angle-up, while blue does an angle-down. It looks like you only get three angle-up uses, but there seems to be a way to get more of them. You have unlimited angle-down uses, but each time you use it you have to wait a few seconds for it to recharge.

It's Japanese and your browser settings can't change it. They simply aren't provided in English. If you watch the little animations it can help. It's not a terribly complex game (although the 7000-8000+ scores are a mystery to me).

No changes in gameplay that I can determine, but it seems to run more smoothly.

Yeah, that does seem to run a bit more smoothly. I replaced the version on my server with it. Thanks!

I disagree. Those numbers look high until you see people who've broken 10,000. Getting that high actually does take some skill.

Though I suppose that being able to read the directions would probably help. I can't read them either, though I'm looking for translations.

Paging wataru....

I can sort-of make out the basics, but my skills with kanji aren't good enough yet to make an accurate translation.

Ok. I hate you. I should not like this game. I'm not really interested in anime, the premise of the game is stupid, and it's more cartoonish than I could have imagined-"Comic Force Field?" Oh come on!

That said, here's my best so far:

Now I have to work that much harder at getting anything done on the computer! Oh well. Love those combos!

I've figured out most of the special moves, though I'm still not sure about all of them. This took way too much trial and error, but I've verified some of them by decompiling the thing and looking at the source.

Kiri (blue): Kiri's special is active as long as the character standing behind her is Miki.
Miki (yellow): Miki's special is active as long as the character standing behind her is Kiri.
Touko (red): Touko's special is activated when you touch her, and stays active until you touch anyone else.
Misato (green): Touch any character, and then any female character before hitting the ground. Misato's special will become active and stay active until you touch the ground.

I'm still looking into exactly how to activate Nanaka's special, but I know that it can only be activated if Youko's (purple) Block ability is active. Once it's active, touch any female character; the type of force field Nanaka generates depends on the character you touch.

Using a special does not deactivate it, in and of itself. However, Kiri's and Miki's specials will carry you well beyond their range (which will deactivate them), and Nanaka's special deactivates Youko's Block, which in turn deactivates Nanaka's special. However, Touko's special remains active as long as you don't touch anyone other than Touko, so you can use her special many times in a row if you want, and Misato's special follows similar rules.

Taichi, you mean?

That's one of Nanaka's special moves, and I haven't been able to quite figure that out yet. I think that's Nanaka's move when you touch Misato, but I'm not sure.

It sure would be nice if I could read Japanese. The instructions are kind of exclusively NOT in any language I can read or get translated. Funny that most of the rest of the game is in English...

Anyway, I've stumbled on the Cosmic Force Field and a few combos. I still haven't beat my 4600m record.

No, it's worse. The drizzle has turned into misty fog. With the way people around here drive, it'll be madness in minutes.

I'm starting to believe that there IS such a thing as too much rain, even in a "semi-arid" location!
