with the GM employee discount thingy going on. Anybody knows about this car? Anything about reliability? It seems pretty darn cheap, and actually cheaper than the original (the subaru WRX). tempting.....

The basic rap I've heard on it is it's a good car, but in a really odd place. Not as ricer-balls-to-the-wall as the WRX, not as quirky and refined as a Saab, but a good car.
I drove one the other day as well as the 9-3 Aero, and while I overall like the 9-3 better (but then I've been a Saab fan for a long time), the 9-2 was a fun ride. Just not very Saab like.

I've had my Saab 9-2X Aero for 10 months now and I am incredibly happy with the decision. Paid quite a bit more at the time, but no regrets. I would recommend a manual, but I've heard that there are very few left now.
Keep in mind that the Saab has a better warranty and service than the Subaru. Mine has been quite reliable, so I haven't had to put the warranty to the test.
