Interesting story from O'Grady:

Turns out the Core 2 Duos in notebooks only average a 7% increase in speed. Personally, I'm glad that I went ahead and ordered my MacBook a month ago. This is the best notebook I've ever had, and I'm not sweating that I didn't wait for a 7% increase in speed!

The actual change depends on the apps you use. Anandtech had the same results two months ago; some benchmarks are up ~2%, others are up ~20%. AnandTech: Mobile CPU Wars: Core 2 Duo vs. Core Duo
