Hey, it's a pretty simple question. If I were to get my new Mac and it had a dead pixel, would Apple replace it? Because it kinda sucks having to have a computer for 3 years that will have a dead pixel...
Thanks

Nope, like just about all other computer manufactorers apple has a pixel policy
You do have 14 days to return it but you may have to pay a 10% restocking fee.

I just found out today, that my screen has a dead pixel. I immediatly contacted Apple support, but the lady said that one dead pixel wasn't enough reason for changing the screen. I'll use the return policy, and go out and buy a new machine.
But man do i hate to do this.

Where is the dead pixel, if its off to the side, it may not even be noticeable.

I've read before that some people have had success gently massaging the pixel or the area to get the dead pixel to go away.

Well, here in Denmark we don't have to pay any re-stocing fee.
Guess i should buy my next MBP in a Fona store, since they also have the 14 days return policy.

Also guys, sorry this is off topic: but I've already made 2 topics today to do with my new laptop.
Do you think the price of the MacBook Pros will go down soon because of the drop in price of Intel chips?

The mobile Intel chips were just released/dropped in price.
The upcoming drops (July 29 and August... something) are for the workstation and desktop chips.

No, I don't believe apple will be reducing the price.

With a dead pixel I'd take it back, no matter what Apple’s policy is there’s no doubt it’s a manufacturing fault.
